Q: Why the change?
A: The USG Southard, OK plant (that sources Hydrostone the material I use to make my jars) will be closing and phasing it out its portfolio. This means they will not be producing Hydrostone, Hydrocal, etc anymore. Production will not be transferred and will stop. So the beautiful handcrafted concrete vessels you’ve known? No more of these marbling designs once I run out of the Hydrostone I have left.
While I’ll be making concrete candles till I run out of Hydrostone I’m shifting to regular glass candles. Thank you for pivoting with me. The blends are just as strong and I know the concrete vessels is what stood out but the Plant closing impacted my business and fired over 200 people.
